Self-Care During Pregnancy: 5 Places You Need to Apply Belly Oil

I LOVE BELLY OIL! There are many benefits to using stretch mark oil during and after pregnancy. Pain relief, aesthetic benefits, and self care are just a few of the reasons I recommend using belly oil throughout pregnancy and into the postpartum period. Below are a few of my favorite places to apply belly oil.

1. Tummy

The most obvious place you will be applying belly oil is to your growing tummy!  Early on, you may consider applying the oil once a day.  As you move further into your pregnancy, consider applying more frequently.  Especially if you are getting any sensations of stretching, pulling or itching discomfort.

2. Hips

Every mama’s body is different, but it is common for mamas to gain weight around the outer hips.  Moisturize these areas to help with any discomfort.

3. Butt

With pregnancy weight gain, the butt is also a great target for belly oil.  Consider adding oil to your bottom.  The best time to apply oil is directly after a shower.

4. Breasts

I didn’t personally experience big changes in my breasts and was fortunate enough to avoid stretch marks in this area.  However, many mamas I have spoken with have said this was a major area of stretch marks for them and they wish they had lathered up this area, as well!

5. Inner Thighs

Similar to the buns and hips, the inner thighs are just another place where weight gain is common in women.  If you are prone to stretch marks in this area, add it to your list.  If your thighs are as thick as mine, however, the oil may be irritating where the thighs touch.  On days you plan to apply oil to the thighs, consider wearing loose pants to avoid chaffing.
