Belly oil during pregnancy is essential!  There are many different reasons to use it and places to apply it, but the first step is picking the best product for you.

#4: Cocoa Butter

I heard other mamas recommend this product, but I just couldn’t get behind it.  The scent is strong and sweet in a way that I did not personally appreciate during my pregnancy.

More importantly, this product actually irritated my skin leaving me with itching and a minor rash.

I did pass it on to another mama with my gentle warning, and she didn’t seem to have this issue.

#3: Trilastin Cream

While this product was heavily promoted and seemingly well-loved on Amazon, I just didn’t feel like it did much more than a standard moisturizer.  The product was somewhat light in comparison to my typical Cetaphil cream and I did not notice anything special when using this.

I did end up using it in addition to the #2 product above, as I felt the combination did offer some additional moisture.  However, this is not a product I recommend to my friends or family.

#2: Bio Oil

I have used this product in the past when it was popular for healing acne scars and I was comfortable giving it another try for this new application.

I found this oil absorbed easily into the skin and did not seem to leave any off-putting scent.  It was easy to finish and I did purchase a second bottle before finding my holy grail body oil.

My biggest qualm with this product is that the moisturized feeling was not as long-lasting as my top choice.  However, for mamas who like an oil that absorbs quickly into the skin, this may be a great option.

#1: Body Boost Milk & Honey Stretch Mark Oil

My number one favorite body oil is the Body Boost Milk & Honey Stretch Mark Oil.  While it is scented, I found this to be light and not bothersome to my pregnant nose.

The reason this is my number one choice is that it provided the longest-lasting moisture of any product I tried.   It is a product that I think could transfer to other surfaces if contacted directly after application, but this did not seem to be an issue for me.

I applied this oil to multiple body areas and never experienced any irritation, despite my eczema tendencies.  I can confidently say this is the best body oil I have tried!
