Making the Actual List
I am a strong believer in the power of a good list! The stock iPhone Notes app tends to be my go-to. Most of us are rarely without our phones, so it is easily accessible and convenient to edit as items pop into your mind.
I recommend using the Shared Notes feature and adding your partner to your list. That way you can both keep track of any last-minute items you need to remember if you go into labor.
Scan for Any Missing Items
When I’m double-checking my list, I like to think about it in terms of scanning head-to-toe. Having a methodical way of checking over your person will help to make sure you don’t forget anything that will make you feel normal during your stay at the hospital. I always think: hair, skin, eyes, ears, mouth, body, etc.

With childbirth, you simply cannot plan for every scenario. To me, it was most manageable to plan for the expected: at least a 2-3 day stay.

I’m 37 weeks tomorrow- definitely using this as my guide to pack my bag!
I do love bringing my favorite protein bars & body armors. Feels like a treat after labor. 🩷
Thank you for the recommendation. Bringing some favorite treats is a great idea! Good luck, Mama!
